Bell how many of your friends from MGC do you still stay in contact with?
By Telly From Gainesville, GA
"I stay in touch with a lot of my friends from MGC."
Hey Kendrell, I was just wondering if you think that being in the Chiefs defense for the second year, that you'll be more comfortable, and be able to be more of a disruptive force for offenses. I've followed you since you entered the league and I think that you are an awesome football player. You are my favorite defensive player on the Chiefs and all of football. Well later Kendrell and good luck and god bless and here's to a wonderful 2006 season.
By Anthony Carlos Jr. From Lancaster, CA
"Yeah. That's the plan! I appreciate the support and encouragement to do my best. Good luck with all of your endeavors as well."
Hi Kendrell, I am turning 16 in September and entering the 11th grade. All summer I have been running 1/4 mile sprints and lifting weights. My 40 time is about 4.8. I want to get faster. Do you have any suggestions? Thanks. Also this summer I went to three camps. Two in Phila. I was chosen in both camps as the best fullback. My goal is to go to college on a scholarship. My parents are great help, but I don't want them to pay for college. Is there anything specific I need to do for coaches to start looking at me for scholarships? I would appreciate any suggestions you could give me. Hope to hear from you soon. Oh yeah, just be sure to stay there at least 6 more years so that I can play beside you!! See ya later.

"Sounds to me like you need to continue to do what you're doing. You could consider running track, that's what I used to do, just to get your legs stronger. Running quarters with the track team would help. You don't really need to do long distance to help with your speed and explosion so focus on the short distance events. As far as scholarships go, your opportunities will increase if you continue to make plays. You might even try adding another position on the other side of the ball, perhaps linebacker. Don't forget that you can always walk on and be awarded a scholarship if you play well."
Hey Kendrell I will be a sophmore in Kimball MN. I was wondering how you get your traps to be bigger? And how do you get faster? If you could answer these that would be great. Thanks and good luck on the new season. Stephan
By stephan Kurkosky From kimball, MN
"Stephan,

If you want to get faster, do a number of leg exercises. For example, to warm your body up, start with about four sets of half gassers or suicides. As far as exercises, front squats (for quad development and core stability), power clings (for explosion), and back squats (for a combination of quad and hamstring strength) all work well for me. To get your traps bigger, pull ups are great, so are alternating one arm bench rows. Good luck!"
Hi Kendrell, what are your thoughts on new head coach Herm Edwards? Do you think he can help make the defense a little more dominant? thanks
By Jeff From Olathe, KS
"Coach Edwards is a great addition to our organization. I've played against the Jets when he was their coach and I can honestly say that few teams were as physical as the Jets during his tenure there. He brings a lot to the table, he's encouraging, and knows what it takes to win. I definitely believe our defense will continue to get better and become dominant."
I'm a Marine stationed in San Diego but I bleed Arrowhead Red. I was wanting to know what your off season weight training consists of. I'm a hard gainer looking to pack on as much functional strength and mass as possible
By tyler From san diego, CA
"Well, we start out warming up with some calisthetics or light jogging. Then we have an array of exercises that mimick the movents we use on the field. For example, we do change of direction drills, such as running around cones, shuffling, sprinting, backpedaling, and we do that for about an hour. Afterwards, we immediately go to the weight room to start lifting weights. Two days a week, we do leg work outs, and two days a week, we do upper body. These exercises range from squats, clings, dumbell lunges, and other traditional weight room workouts. On the upper body days, I prefer a lot of push ups, but we also bench, incline, and do a lot of back work. Then, we stretch afterwards and that's about it. I would suggest you do push ups to help with functional strength. Try to do 100 straight. For your legs, you can do wall squats and hold it for one minute intervals. Do that 10 times. Dumbells are also good to work out with because they take stress off the joints and allows you to work out more of your muscles, it really is good for your shoulders. Hope that helps."
Hey Kendrell. My name is Cory. I am a freshman at Cheney High School in Cheney, Kansas. I am thinking of switching to LB next year (I was a DT this year) and I would like some tips, could you please provide?
By Cory Michael From Cheney, KS
"Hey Cory, depending on your weight, I think that's a good idea. Regardless of your position, you should work on strengthening your legs, back and shoulders. Stretching is key for maximum benefits. An example for legs is running quarters for time. I do this to build speed. I run four timed quarters on a track at lesat twice a week for off season training. A quarter is one time around a track; a quarter of a mile, that's where the name comes from.

KENDRELL #99

P.S. Don't overload your joints!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
